Day 66

 

This is the stairways leading into MONA, the Museum of Old and New Art, that just opened a new exhibition called Monanism. The exhibition contains millionaire David Walsh's favourite works that "represent him and present him to the worlds for interest, outage or indifference". The museum is set into a peninsular at Berriedale on the Derwent Rive and build into sandstone which makes the experience even more interesting!

After the visit to MONA we went back to Hobart city Looking for second hand tapes for our van!

In the evening we went to a cricket game in Bellerive Oval to see a semifinal between Tasmanian Tigers and New South Wales - NSW wins (soon to be my new home!)

Day 65

Port Arthur Historic Site is Tassie's single biggest tourist attraction and it's on the World Heritage List, so of course we had to see it! It stands as a sad reminder of Tamania's brutal convict past from 1830.

We went on a harbour cruise at Port Arthur

This is the Tessellated Pavement at Eaglehawk Neck and it's really beautiful and made by the nature!

We arrived in Hobart (pop 200.525) , Australia's second-oldest city and southernmost capital. Here we met up with Jackie's son Christopher and his girlfriend Alicia for beers and tapas at Astray Esplanade, love it!

Princess Mary's former waitress job was in this restaurant!

Day 63

Day 62

Some of Tasmania's most beautiful coastline is found on the east coast. We went for a walk at the beach to see the area called Bay of Fires

This is the first shark I met on the Australian beaches - I hope it's the last!
